Our opening sequence represents a teenage audience of all classes and backgrounds because it is associated with school life and how external factors can impact on your school day.
For the distribution of this media product, we would use very conventional methods such as tv trailers and in magazine posters. We would also go for a more new age method in the same way as the film Atonement and use multi-media messaging because our audience is that of a young teenage one and we would market in this way because it is a good way to capture the correct target audience that we would need.
Our primary target audience would be a teenage audience because the conventions used in our film would relate to the audience because the characters are of the same age group and in the same situation because they are in school (ages between 13-18). As predicted, our audience responded positively to the media production because they could relate to the characters, we would like to see an expansion of the audience to a more mature adult audience if it were possible because we would like to broaden our productions potential.
This is the questionnaire for our production

After asking 10 members of my target audience the results recieved from this questionnaire were:
1. Did you like the sequence?
Yes - 10
No - 0
From this questions results, i am able to see that all of the people i made watch the sequence liked it, however i am not able to interpret too many details from this question since it is an overall generalised question.
2. Do you feel like you can relate the main character?
Yes - 6
No - 4
the reslts from this question shows that from the entire 10 people that i asked about the sequence previously filmed, 6 people were in actual fact able to realte to this character, which is good as i previously explained my target audience as having things in common with James (the main character) e.g. social class and urban/city lifestyle as well as age. Although 4 people that i considered to be my target audience wasnt able to relate to James in such a personal way, the majority of my audience did.
3. If not how do you feel this could be improved?
The 4 people that couldnt relate to James all said that the storyline was far too stereo typical, and therefore could not relate because its not necessarily true always true. Because of the fact that not all children from working class families who live in urban areas will get into legal trouble like James so suggested the idea of something that every teenager goes through in life e.g puberty.
4. Did you feel at any point that anything in the sequence was unrealistic?
Yes - 2
No - 8
According to these results, 8 people from the total 10, had said that all of the sequence was in fact realistic, however 2 said they both thought that the interview scene with James an dthe police officer was unrealistic. Although the situation was real, the setting wasnt and made reference to the lights used in the scene, suggesting they were 2 dark and is not usually what is seen in a normal police staion interrigation room.

Yes - 10
No - 0

I would like to thank Cheryl for conducting the questionnaire and finding and recording the information in this way.
This positive feedback shows that our target audience responded quite positively to the production and we are extremely pleased with the results from the data we have gathered.
We attracted our audience by the relationship to the main character by making him seem like an average teenager who has done something tragic and making the audience want to know what happens next.
Looking back to the preliminary task up until the completion of the final product, i have learnt that the editing process and filming process require time and patience to complete up to a good standard. The environment that you are filming can have a detramental impact on the outcome of the shots you are trying to get because there are many external variables that may interfere with filming which may demand that you repeat certain things and constantly have to re-do.
Overall, i believe the final production to be a success because we achieved what we set out to do which was to appeal to our audience and captivate them in a media production that wouls leave them wanting more.
